What is Reach the Day? Reach the Day is an event that brings the children’s cancer community together in our Nation’s Capitol to inform members of Congress of the urgent need for funding to support children’s cancer research. Together, we are committed to Reach the Day when every child with cancer can be guaranteed a cure.
When is Reach the Day? Reach the Day will be held on June 21- 22nd in Washington, DC. It marks a 10-year tradition for the children’s cancer community to advocate for more funding for children’s cancer research.
Who attends Reach the Day? CureSearch opens Reach the Day to everyone whose life has been touched by children’s cancer – parents, bereaved parents, children’s cancer survivors, children in treatment, health professionals, friends, families and neighbors. Through our combined efforts, we can Reach the Day when every child with cancer is guaranteed a cure.
What happens during Reach the Day? Components for the event are as follows:

• Rally to Reach the Day
• The CureSearch Walk
• Scheduled Visits with Members of Congress on June 22, 2010
Who schedules our Capitol Hill meetings? CureSearch will schedule meetings for you with members of Congress.
How can I be part of Reach the Day? Everyone must register in order to schedule your meetings with members of Congress.
Is there a fee to attend Reach the Day? There is no registration fee. Participants cover their travel and hotel costs.

You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. Please be sure to identify yourself as part of the Reach the Day Group to receive our rate of $215 plus tax per night. Cutoff date for reservations in the Reach the Day room block is Monday, May 31, 2010. The hotel is located on Capitol Hill close to the Red Line Metro stop at Union Station. There are many other hotels in Washington and nearby suburbs. You can check www.washington.org for information about other hotels in the local area.
