Chapters throughout the country offer patient services and information on cancer research, prevention, detection, treatment and advocacy. In addition, Chapters offer transportation to appointments, equipment and supplies, social work services, support groups, educational literature, and summer camps for children with cancer.

www.cancer.orgCamp Adventure is a place where kids can be kids! This overnight camp program serves children with cancer AND their siblings, from ages 6 to 18. Patients on and off treatment are eligible and when the patient is too young or too ill to attend camp, siblings are still eligible.
Camp Adventure is FREE of charge and staffed by volunteers, from the doctors to the cabin counselors. Activities are like those found at any ordinary camp, though Camp Adventure is EXTRAORDINARY. Activities include sports, arts and crafts, nature, swimming, archery, carnival, dances and special events.
In addition to Camp Adventure's overnight experience, family events, parties, and activities are planned year round and all families coping with childhood cancer are eligible to participate.While most referrals are for children in the New York metro area, applications from other areas are still considered.

www.thevaleriefund.orgWe believe that a single happy moment is therapeutic to everyone who shares in it. For more than 30 years, The Valerie Fund has operated a free, week-long summer camp program for Valerie Center patients ages 5-21 called, appropriately, Camp Happy Times.
Since 1983, The Valerie Fund has operated Camp Happy Times, a free one week overnight camp experience for children aged 5-21 who have or have had cancer. Nearly 200 children each summer attend Camp Happy Times located on the two hundred acre Tyler Hill Camp in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. Tyler Hill is fully accredited by the American Camping Association and Camp Happy Times is a proud member of the International Children's Oncology Camping Association.
The mission of Camp Happy Times promotes friendship, independence, and a spirit of cooperation for cancer patients and survivors. The CHT philosophy is to provide a recreationally therapeutic environment that engages participants while building self-esteem, confidence, trust and friendship.

Their Teen Camp is offered for children ages 13 to 17 years old and gives them an opportunity to choose their own activities. Junior Camp provides a camping experience filled with games, fun and challenges for children ages 7 to 12 years old.
Activities include horseback riding, arts and crafts, basketball, hockey, soccer, theater games, archery, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and much more.
The campsite is located in the Pocono Mountains, just a 3 hour drive from Philadelphia.
There is no charge for any former, or current patient. A nominal fee of $100 is charged for siblings. Free round-trip transportation is provided from Philadelphia.
