Teams of investment bankers joined forces for a Karaoke competition and a good cause. The second annual Karaoke Kontest and Meatball Eating Kontest featured nine teams ready to impress a panel of judges in hopes of making it to the final round while raising money for children's cancer.
In this American Idol style competition, teams were given one chance to impress the judges. If they succeeded, they made it to the final round where they performed a song picked by the judges. Regardless of who won, all contestants left knowing that they had made an impact in the lives of children battling cancer.
6-year-old Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) survivor, Abigail attended the event, and even sang a few karaoke songs for the teams after sharing her story of survival with attendees. She helped remind the participants that research is essential in finding a cure for children's cancer and without support from people like them, she might not have survived.
The event was a huge success; raising $60,000 to help CureSearch fund innovative research and make sure that one day, every child is guaranteed a cure.
