Things to Consider

Now that you're thinking about the event you would like to organize, consider these important questions before moving forward.

  1. Do you want to use the CureSearch name or logo to promote your event?
  2. Events are fun and a lot of work. Is the money you expect to raise worth the effort of the volunteer time? If you are uncertain, consider if your time is better spent enhancing an existing CureSearch event. See our list of CureSearch events here: www.curesearch.org/Fundraise.
  3. Will your event raise at least twice as much as it costs? It's preferable to raise 3-4 times the cost.
  4. Have you allowed at least 2-3 months to organize your event?
  5. Is your event appropriate for a children's cancer organization?
  6. Since your event is not coordinated by CureSearch, are you prepared to assume responsibility and liability for the event?

Did you answer YES to these questions? Please continue to Step 3.

If you answered no or are uncertain, please consider if your time is better spent enhancing an existing CureSearch event. Explore our current events here: www.curesearch.org/Fundraise. Or contact us at (800) 458-6223 or specialevents@curesearch.org for more information. We need you with us in the search for the cure, and hope you will contact us to explore opportunities that work for you.
