Chase was a typical 9-year-old boy who liked baseball and dogs. When his mother noticed a strange bump on his arm and took him to the doctor, the test results turned their world upside down: Chase was diagnosed with an aggressive form of osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Chase underwent surgery and chemotherapy which kept him in the hospital for months. While in the hospital, Chase was visited by trained service dogs. Sometime these dogs were the only thing that could put a smile on his face. Now in remission, Chase is determined to help others who are fighting cancer.
Seeing how happy these dogs made Chase and having lost a Great Dane due to the same disease, Chase's cousin Patrick signed his dog Bentley up to become a service dog. Bentley, a Great Dane, is not only a service dog in training and a therapy dog, but has the world's longest tail and is in the running to be certified by the Guinness Book of World records as the world's tallest service dog.
Today, Patrick and Bentley are traveling to hospitals around the country to share the fun and magic of one of the world's largest dogs with sick children. Find Bentley in a city near you by visiting www.heelcancer.org.
You can also support CureSearch for Children's Cancer and the National Canine Cancer Foundation by purchasing ORGANIX dog food at your local PetSmart. Visit www.heelcancer.org to learn more and find a PetSmart near you.
