The combined efforts of the children's cancer community and corporate sponsors at the CureSearch Walk - Upstate NY produced an overwhelmingly successful October 9, 2011 event. Over 600 participants and generous donations from businesses resulted in the Walk raising more than $73,000 for children's cancer research.

The networking of the children's cancer community in Upstate NY created a surge of corporate support - pharmacutical company Sanofi Oncology signed on as presenting sponsor, and UnitedHealthcare and International Wire also sponsored the event. Many local businesses and organizations generously donated food, beverages, and other goods and services, ensuring the success of this year's CureSearch Walk.

Walkers and volunteers were critical to the success of the event and reaching out to family, friends, and the media to raise money and awareness for children's cancer research.
