ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals will announce the launch of a brand new community initiative, Courage Caps, at their annual visit to Children’s National Media Center on Monday, Oct. 15 from 2-3:45 p.m. Chairman and majority owner Ted Leonsis will join the team for a press conference at 2 p.m. to introduce the new initiative, followed by visits with hospital patients. Courage Caps are team-issued and branded hats that will be sold throughout the season at Capitals home games and online at NHL.com, with 100% of the sale price benefiting CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation, an NHL charitable partner that focuses on raising funds for the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s largest cooperative cancer research organization.
