Mattawan Kicks Out Cancer
Children's cancer survivors honored at kickball tournament

Mattawan residents came together for a friendly kickball game and to raise fund for children's cancer. The community was inspired by local cancer heroes from local schools, like Gideon who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010. He has been bravely battling cancer and inspiring all those around him since his diagnosis when he was three.

Mattawan Kicks Out Cancer participants wanted to show children's cancer that they will do anything to find a cure. Their hard work and dedication helped them raise $20,000 to help fund lifesaving cancer research.

Participants enjoyed friendly games of kickball as well as family friendly activities like a magic show. Children's cancer heroes, like Gideon, were celebrated at a ceremony after the tournament. Those that have been lost to children's cancer were also honored.
