Creating Hope Act Passes in House,
Work Begins in the Senate

Thanks to the support of thousands of citizen activists, the Creating Hope Act is in the House version of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA).

Now, the children's cancer community is fighting for its inclusion in the manager's amendment of the Senate Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) bill, which is scheduled to go to the Senate floor by the end of this week.

The next and final chance for inclusion will likely occur in early June at Conference when the Senate and House PDUFA bills are reconciled.  We will then ask the Senate to recede to the House bill on the Creating Hope Act language, Section 865.

We are grateful to each and every one of you who made calls and sent letters in recent weeks and over the last year.  Your voices were heard and Members of Congress and their staff know that we are not indifferent to the plights of our children and the need for new and better drugs for them.
